My Skin Story

My Current Skincare Routine 🧴

39-year-old with dry, hyper-reactive skin prone to vascular flushing and seasonal sensitivity. My primary focus is maintaining a bulletproof barrier, optimizing deep humectant hydration, and addressing early signs of dynamic expression lines using gentle, well-buffered actives. I avoid heavy, suffocating creams and favor layered, watery-to-dense fluid textures. Here is what I am currently using to keep my skin calm and glowing!

🧴 My current skincare routine:

🫧 Cleanser: MADAGASCAR CENTELLA LIGHT CLEANSING OIL (SKIN1004)
🫧 Cleanser: Mousse Detergente Acido Ialuronico (Laboratorio Farmacisti Preparatori / Farmacia Aquilinia)

💦 Toner / Essence: Skin Conditioner (Naturie Hatomugi)
💦 Toner / Essence: Cream Skin Cerapeptide Refiner (Laneige)
💎 Serum: AZELAIC ACID PEPTIDE AMPOULE SERUM (APLB)
👁️ Eye Cream: Revive Eye Serum Ginseng + Retinal (Beauty of Joseon)
🧴 Moisturizer: Black Rice Pure G2 Ceramide Barrier Moisturizing Cream (Haruharu wonder)
🧴 Moisturizer: Hyaluronic Ceramide Jelly Cream (Medicube)
☀️ Sunscreen: Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ (Beauty of Joseon)
🎭 Mask: LIP SLEEPING MASK EX [BERRY] (LANEIGE)

Honestly, this is one of the most thoughtfully built routines I’ve seen for reactive, flushing-prone skin 👏 • I love that you’re prioritizing barrier support + layered hydration instead of chasing stronger actives. • The main thing I’d watch is the Retinol 1%. With your reactive profile, I’d keep it very well buffered, and if your skin starts feeling irritated, hot, dry, or sensitized, take a break immediately and focus on hydration and barrier repair before using retinol again. • Your BOJ eye serum is a great lightweight retinal option, but because it’s on the lighter side, I’d also try a more cream-based eye cream afterward (something like SANA Eye Cream for a budget option or Holitual Eye Cream for a richer barrier-focused formula). Another easy option is BOJ in the morning and a cream-based eye cream at night. Overall, your routine is already much more advanced than most routines I see at 39. The goal here isn’t more products—it’s keeping your skin calm, hydrated, and consistently stable 💙 Hope this helps, and I’m cheering you on! 😊

Thank you so much, @CY_122 ! That means a lot coming from you! 💙 It’s definitely been a long process of trial and error to learn my skin sensitivity, especially during my luteal phase, when my vascular flushing gets so much worse! Pure Vitamin C is sadly a total no-no for my face for that exact reason, so I only use it up on my neck and chest now. Once I finish the Ordinary Retinol and the BOJ eye serum, I’m planning to switch over to the Seoul 1988 Retinal! I strictly keep retinoids to 3–4 nights a week, and I always seal them with the Haruharu Ceramide cream to lock in moisture overnight. I’m taking it one step at a time and slowly working through my stash before opening new products. Thanks for cheering me on and for the great advice on eye-area sealing!

@Mariacasino I love the look of your routine 💕 I wanted to ask, do you use all 3 toners every day or do you rotate them? Also, do you think the Haruharu Black Rice Cream would be ok for acne prone skin or would it be too heavy?

Thank you! 💕 It definitely looks like a toner obsession on paper, but I actually don't use all three together—they each serve a very different, specific purpose in my routine! Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner: My absolute staple. It is super simple, cheap, and gentle. I keep it in a spray bottle to mist right out of the shower or immediately post-cleansing to calm redness and prep my skin without any heaviness. Laneige Cream Skin Cerapeptide: I bought a mini size while searching for something to replace my beloved Minon Amino Moist. I like it in the AM right after cleansing as a hydrating, barrier-supportive base before sunscreen (it lets me skip a heavy morning cream). COSRX Snail Mucin Essence: I bought this mostly out of curiosity due to the hype! It gives good slip, but it’s quite tacky, I haven't seen dramatic benefits from it, and it can occasionally lean a bit sensitizing on my reactive skin. I’m just panning it in my PM routine before my moisturizer on non-retinoid nights. Regarding the Haruharu Black Rice Cream for acne-prone skin: it has a richer emollient/oil base, so it might lean too heavy or congest acne-prone skin unless applied in a very thin layer. If you're prone to breakouts, you might prefer a lightweight, non-comedogenic gel-cream instead—something like the Purito Oat-in Calming Gel Cream or iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream will give you soothing hydration without the pore-clogging risk! 🧴✨

Thank you for explaining @Mariacasino I just wanted to make sure as some people are layering them and I found that is too much for my skin. Naturie Skin Conditioner is on my wishlist for a while but I always get distracted by something newer and more shiny lol. I shouldn't as simple products usually work better for barrier. Thank you for letting me know how you use them 💕
