This week: Unread, levels to 99, Translate, and your skin log as a report

Five things went live this week. Three started with your comments, and two we just wanted for this place.

Unread — new today. hazelmoss asked for it, and we built a little more than she asked for. "Unread" is now in the sort menu next to Newest. It shows the posts you haven't opened from the last 30 days, newest first, and when there's nothing left you'll see "You're all caught up." Because what most of us actually miss here is new replies on posts we've already read, every card in every view now shows two small things: a dot before the title means you haven't opened that post yet, and "5 new" next to the comment count means five people have replied since you last opened it. "Mark all as read" sits above the list for the days you come back to a pile. One honest limit: a post counts as read once you open it, so skimming it in the feed doesn't count.

Levels now go to 99, and they never go down. Every level is a number from 1 to 99, each with its own small icon next to your name that grows as you climb (seed, sprout, leaf, bud, flower, bloom, crystal). The ring around your profile photo changes colour with your title. Your points can only go up, so deleting a post or losing a like never drops you a rung. A like on your post now counts as much as writing one, because it's the one thing you can't give yourself. The card on the Community page tells you how far the next level is in posts and comments, not points.

Translate. We're 44 countries and not everyone writes in English, so posts and comments in another language now have a "Translate to English" button. Write in whatever language comes naturally. The translation is done by AI, says so, and the original always stays as you wrote it.

Your skin log, yours to keep. On your Skin Log there are two new buttons. Report reads your log back to you for the last 30 days, 90 days, a year or all time: your average and trend, which metrics got better or worse, your best and hardest days with what you wrote, your weekday pattern, what your products seem to have done, and your photo timeline. "Print / PDF" saves it. Export downloads every entry as a spreadsheet (CSV) or JSON, for those of you who like running your own numbers.

Links. Your own videos are welcome: one link at the end of a complete post. Affiliate links are not, for anyone. Recommendations here have never had money attached to the person making them, and that stays true. Plain store links are fine. Any affiliate tag on them is now removed automatically, and where CYoung has her own store partnership, her link is used, with a note under the post saying so. The guidelines say the same thing in writing.

Two smaller fixes: if you signed up with Google, "Forgot password" now lets you set a password so you can sign in with email on any device too. And "Continue as a new post" no longer titles your post after the old thread.

Same offer as always: if something is clunky, missing or wrong, say so here or privately through Message the team.
