Age’s 20 cushion foundation
For those who used age’s 20 essence cover pact, have you experienced serum separating from the balm?
I've been using an Age's 20 cover pact, and it's mostly fine. However, when I was almost down to the pan, I noticed the serum started to separate from the balm. When I applied it to my face, I only got wet serum, and the balm stuck to the puff instead of adhering to my skin. I kept using it until it hit pan because the separation only happens once in a while.
Today, I opened a brand-new pact, and the serum (or water) layer separated from the balm with the very first swirl. When I apply the product, I have to pat it on instead of using the sweeping motion that Cyoung demonstrated in one of her videos for this specific foundation. When I try to apply a second layer, the bottom layer breaks apart and reveals my bare skin, and my face ends up wet with the essence. The balm keeps sticking to the puff instead of my skin.
Has anyone encountered this and how did you fix it?

@BeauteAddict Your new Age 20’s pact is defective. The emulsion has broken down, causing the liquid essence to permanently separate from the solid balm. While tiny micro-beads of serum are normal when swirling, the formula should never flood the pan or refuse to stick to your skin on day one. The product is too wet. Applying a second layer just re-wets and lifts the first layer right off your face. Without a proper blend, the balm acts like thick wax, clinging to the puff instead of transferring to your skin. This is usually caused by extreme temperature damage (overheating or freezing) during transit or warehouse storage, which permanently destroys the formula. Take a photo of the pooled liquid and request a replacement from the retailer for a defective product. Emergency fix: Firmly press a paper towel onto the balm to soak up the excess surface liquid, then try applying it with a different, dry sponge.
I tried to press the paper towel onto the balm serval times and use a different sponge. It happened no matter what. I’ll get an exchange.
I'm sorry that happened! Its very disappointing to open a defective product. Hopefully the retailer will make it easy for you to get a new one.
Good afternoon @BeauteAddict , I don’t know much about make-up nor do I wear any but thats actually a pretty palette, the design and colors chosen. Sorry this happened to you 💙
