Quick question regarding non-EU shipments to Sweden / EU Customs Fees 📦
Hi everyone!
I’m so excited to test my matched products! I just wanted to ask a quick administrative question regarding shipping, specifically for members based in the EU.
Under recent postal regulations for non-EU shipments, local carriers now charge a mandatory administrative clearance fee plus VAT/duty on incoming commercial samples that don't go through the EU IOSS system.
In Sweden, this comes out to roughly 130–150 SEK (~€12–13 EUR / ~$13–14 USD) in processing fees per individual parcel upon arrival.
Because of this fixed fee per shipment, receiving products in multiple separate deliveries can get quite expensive very quickly!
For the brand/admin team: Is it possible to consolidate or bundle all matched items into a single package for delivery?
For other EU testers: How have you been navigating the postal customs notifications on individual shipments recently?

Hi! Thanks so much for flagging this — really appreciate the detailed breakdown. To be upfront: unfortunately we can't consolidate shipments into a single package. Each brand ships independently and directly once their product is ready, and matching happens in staged waves rather than all at once — so there's no central point where items could be bundled before being sent out. I know that's not the answer you were hoping for, especially with the per-parcel customs fee adding up. This is genuinely useful for us to know, though — we hadn't fully accounted for how EU customs fees stack per shipment for testers matched to multiple products. We're going to look into how to handle this better for EU testers going forward (possibly being more mindful about how many products we match per person in a given period). For now, if the customs fees make it not worth it for a particular product, please feel free to let us know — we'd rather you opt out of a match than end up out of pocket for testing. It was a bit of an unexpected surprise for me as well when looking into the new regulations. From what I understand, the baseline €3 flat customs fee per item is now standard across the entire EU, but the final amount testers have to pay at delivery varies significantly from country to country depending on their local postal service's administrative handling fees (which is where PostNord in Sweden adds their fixed charge). I’ll keep an eye on the PostNord tracking once the packages arrive to see the exact fee breakdown in practice. Hi again! I'm absolutely not an expert in this, but I looked it up a little bit online. Thanks so much for being so open to feedback! Here are a few ideas that international PR programs and agencies often use for EU creators: 1) DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Shipping: When brands book international labels via EMS/couriers, choosing DDP allows the brand to cover the small nominal clearance fee upfront on their end, so the package is delivered straight to the tester with no local fees requested at the door. 2) Clear 'Sample / Promotional Material' CN22 Declarations: Ensuring the electronic shipping label categorizes the parcel as a Commercial Sample (Not for Resale) with a low nominal value so that the calculated local VAT stays as low as possible. Hope this helps give some ideas for future logistics updates! 😊 I am not canceling anything on my end, I am willing to pay a small fee for the import, I am not just sure about the amount and I'm afraid the local postal service may apply a high tariff... But we will see!

I haven’t gotten an email or anything regarding a shipment fee but now thanks to you I can be more prepared. You have a good point, it might be a bit pricey but I don’t mind personally. Hello I’m portuguese and recently ordered some products from Global Amoremall. I knew I had to pay governament tax and fees (23% + 3€) but it costed me way more. I spent 118$ (aprox. 105€) and payed 50€ to DHL (carrier fees) to receive my order… I hope that with the tester program the costs won’t be so high.

I want to be upfront with you: since brands ship testers' products directly (rather than through a centralized system like Amoremall), similar customs/duty fees can still apply depending on the carrier and your country's import rules — this isn't something we can fully control or guarantee will be lower. That said, a few things are different in our case: brands typically use postal services like K-packet rather than commercial couriers like DHL for individual tester shipments, which tends to come with lower customs fees. And if you're ever matched with a product and the shipping/customs situation seems like it'll cost more than it's worth, you're always welcome to opt out of that match — we'd rather you skip a product than end up paying more than it's worth. Also, I really appreciate you sharing the Amoremall experience specifically — we actually have a close relationship with Amorepacific, so I'll pass this feedback along to them directly. Thank you for your reply. I met Amore Pacific mall through Cyoung recomendations, they have premium brands hard to find elsewhere. But with this new customs/carrier fees turns to expensive to buy in their website…
I also received my first tester parcel and paid around 20€ for import duty and a fee for DHL. It's a bit silly we also have to pay import duty for postage, but it is what it is I guess
