Skin Q&A

Crepey Cheeks

Does anyone have any suggestions for crepey cheeks? My cheeks became really crepey when I became severely dehydrated last month. Before then, my cheeks were plump and juicy.
I am ingesting collagen powder and drinks in addition to using RF and microcurrent. The issue is, I am not sure what skincare products are best for the dehydration situation.

First, a crucial suggestion: do you think you could temporarily hit pause on the Radiofrequency (and microcurrent)? Especially if you are warming up the tissue, accelerates water evaporation and stresses compromised barrier enzymes, making the crepey texture look worse. That is what I usually do when my skin is stressed: I stop all the "extras" and keep my routine minimal. For products, I think you should be fine with what you have, what matters is the hydration sandwich principle: - Drench: Start with a soothing, non-stripping mist or watery toner applied directly to freshly cleansed, slightly damp skin. - Bind: Layer a hydrating serum (glycerin, panthenol, beta-glucan, or low-molecular humectants) while the face is still moist so the humectants have ambient water to bind to. - Cushion: Follow immediately with a barrier-supporting moisturizer rich in physiological lipids (ceramides, squalane, fatty acids). - Seal (The non-negotiable step): Finish by sealing everything with a true occlusive barrier (a lipid balm, shea butter, squalane oil, or a soothing panthenol/zinc balm). If you don’t lock that water in with an occlusive layer, indoor air will simply pull it straight back out via transepidermal water loss within 30 minutes, and the crepey collapse returns. Rebuild the water reservoir and seal the lid first—the plumpness will follow!
