Face and Eye retinal gel-cream, Body retinal lotion and Lip balms SPF 26 PA+++
Hello to Mrs. CYoung and everyone else, (Combination/ Oily, 35YO) 👋
👁️ I am just about done with my “Dr. Different-retinAl 0.1%” face/ neck tube and I wanted to know if the “Prequel-retinAl 0.2%” face/ neck is a good fit for me. I also have my eye on “Medik8-crystal retinAl eye 3 (0.03%-0.06%)”, though I prefer Korean brands more. Also, first time trying a retinAl eye product.
👄 Does anyone else take care of their lips from the sun? I purchased x2 “Rohto Mentholatum-Premium Melty Cream Lip Balm SPF 26 PA+++” to try them out, one fragrance-free and the other blooming honey scented. I will share an update after I finish the first stick if anyone is interested or if you tried it I’d like to know your opinions please share in the comments. Thank you all 🙏🏽🩵
🧴For the body I am trying out “By Wishtrend-Vitamin A-mazing Bakuchiol body lotion” (also contains retinAl). I was using “Versed-Press Reset retinOl body lotion”, the bottle lasted me a little more than a month. My skin looks and feels soft and smooth, I would buy again. Has anyone tried these brands? I’d like to know, please share in the comments.

Hi Paul! 👋 On the Lip SPF: I take lip UV protection very seriously, especially in the summer. I apply my lip SPF abundantly, extending it right over the lip border, and reapply regularly whenever I'm outdoors. My biggest issue with Western lip SPFs has always been the bitter chemical filter aftertaste. I recently picked up a local pack (the Malibu trio) to test. The INCI is a standard petrolatum/wax base with classic organic filters (Homosalate, Octocrylene, Avobenzone, etc.), and while the initial flavor masks it slightly, that lingering sunscreen aftertaste is definitely there! I haven't tried Asian lip SPFs yet, but Japanese formulas (like Rohto) are famous for superior cosmetic elegance. I’d love to hear your update on the Rohto Melty Cream—especially if it avoids that awful aftertaste! On the Retinal Face & Body Products: I haven't tested the ones you mentioned personally, but step-up jumping from 0.1% to 0.2% retinal is a reasonable progression if your skin has built full tolerance! Just watch out for localized barrier irritation or flushing when doubling the strength, especially around the neck where the skin is significantly thinner. For the eye area, starting at 0.03% retinal is a conservative baseline for a first-time eye retinal. Looking forward to your review on the Rohto sticks!
Hello! 😊 I have never wore a lip sunscreen so this is going to be a new experience for me. You named my main concern, being able to taste the sunscreen. I purchased one of each in case I ran into this problem, they finally arrived today! I will definitely share with you an update after one week of use and then again after I finish the stick completely. Thank you for acknowledging my questions about the retinal products, I felt a bit lost honestly because I only know numbers and percentages but not “good, mid-premium” name brands. Thank you so much for your comment Have an amazing day, Mariacasino
Good evening here, @Mariacasino 💄 So after trying out the fragrance-free Rhoto SPF26+ creamy lip balm for about a week, I could not notice any sunscreen taste throughout the days. My lips feel very soft and moisturized at the moment of applying it but the feeling goes away after 3 hours. I use it 4-5 times daily including after I have something to eat. >>>The experience is similar when I used the blooming honey scented Rhoto SPF26+ creamy lip balm, the fragrance and taste are very subtle but I personally prefer unscented/ fragrance-free. I hope this review helped; I am going to finish these lip balms they are not bad. I work from home so I am usually always indoors. I have my eye 👁️ on another lip balm with SPF, ‘Lipit - Everyday sun balm SPF50+ PA++++’ green grape (Thailand). The ingredients don’t look too bad, have you tried this one before? Has anyone else? Also, I seen you have very healthy basil plant, I love it on my pizza 😁🪴 ..On your HaruHaru Wonder review- -another good review of course!
Hi Paul! Thanks for the review update on the Rohto—3 hours is pretty typical for lighter, creamy lip balms, so that makes sense! I haven't tried the Lipit Green Grape Balm, but its formula is heavily petrolatum-based with jojoba and cocoa butter, so it should be much more occlusive and longer-lasting! Just note that it does have a distinct grape scent/flavor, so keep that in mind since you prefer fragrance-free. Thanks for the sweet words on the HaruHaru review and my balcony basil— as an Italian living in Sweden, fresh basil on pizza is mandatory! 🪴🍕
