Honestly, Jung Saem Mool, Aestura, and Holitual are in completely different leagues as brands. The first two are very popular, more affordable brands that sell extremely well at Olive Young and are especially popular with people in their 20s–30s.
Holitual, on the other hand, is a premium luxury brand within the Amore group — honestly on a similar level to Sulwhasoo. Their target audience is more 30s–40+, and they don’t even really have physical stores. Even many Koreans usually buy it through beauty influencer markets or special events. It’s definitely a much more luxurious brand overall.
The Jung Saem Mool cushion has been around for over 10 years, comes in a huge shade range, and has amazing quality for the price. But the Holitual cushion was only launched late last year, and it’s already become popular among makeup artists because of how beautifully hydrating and smooth the formula is. It’s a much newer-generation formula! Everyone who’s already picked it up has been giving amazing feedback too.
For Aestura — their toner is mainly for oily skin, and it’s not the milky toner version, so it’s a bit different. The viral milky toners are usually in a different price range too, but I loved the Holitual one because it gives deep nourishment without feeling overly sticky. It hits that perfect middle ground.

How would you compare holitual milky toner with Laneige cream toner and tirtir milky toner? I own all 3. lol ordered the holitual toner from your set, but haven’t opened it yet since I just opened the Laneige one. I wonder if I should order more if it’s more hydrating.
I don’t really reach for TIRTIR or Laneige toners for now—they feel a bit heavy and sticky especially during Korea’s hot, humid summers. 😅 But I still use the Holitual one! 😜 It feels like they perfected the cream-toner concept: lightweight, non-sticky, yet surprisingly hydrating. In short: same idea, but a more advanced and elegant formula. ✨
I just received the holitual cushion. I always thought I was medium tone, but got the 02 and it fits me perfectly! I haven’t used many cushion foundations in my life, only the moonshoot, hera black cushion, laneige, ysl and I think holitual and ysl is my favorite! I think it’s my favorite because it matches my skin tone so well compared to the others where it looks sort of too matte or color tone isn’t match for me. I’m obsessed! Going to buy another one, but maybe in a lighter shade. Cyoung, please recommend more cushion foundations for mature skin!
Aww, that’s such great news! 🩷❤️ Holitual shades actually run a bit deeper than most Korean cushions (I’m guessing because their target audience is probably 40+). If 02 is a perfect match for you, you’re likely around a Korean shade 23 or even 25 in many other brands! It’s not just the color that makes it special, though. The hydration, the glow, and the way it melts into pores when you apply it with that little Nike swoosh motion are absolutely amazing. 🥺✨ The YSL Pink Cushion is definitely hydrating too, but Holitual feels like a much more modern, updated formula to me. I loved it so much that I had to share it with everyone, so I’m thrilled it’s working for you! And honestly, finding the perfect cushion is almost harder than finding a husband. 😂😉 I’ll keep hunting for more gems for mature skin and let you know when I find them! 💕
