Beauty Devices / Microcurrent: Gimmick or a real step for product absorption?
Hey everyone!
I’ve been diving into beauty tech lately and wanted to open a discussion on microcurrent / electroporation devices.
Most Western dermatologists lean toward at-home devices being mostly temporary or subtle for actual lifting. But being stubborn and analytical, I had to test the waters myself! I picked up a simple, accessible device—not expecting a medical face-lift, but mainly to see if it actually improves product penetration for my hydrating and soothing layers.
Given how massive beauty tech is in K-beauty right now (with devices like Medicube’s Age-R line or Centellian24 focusing so much on absorption and glow), I’m super curious about this community's experience!
Have you incorporated a device into your routine? What device or tech are you using (electroporation, gentler microcurrent, EMS, etc.)?
Did you notice any real difference in absorption or skin barrier hydration? Or did it end up being purely placebo?
Did you stick with it daily/weekly, or did the extra step lose its appeal after a few weeks?
Would love to hear your honest take before I decide whether to keep mine in my long-term rotation or call it a day! ⚡️✨
