@hazelmoss I feel so sad that you can't use much of anything on your highly sensitive skin! Have you found anything that your skin loves yet??? I mean other than water...?
@Gabking1217 My skin doesn't like tap water either. Showers are a big trigger for flares. 😂 The regimen I'm on right now seems to be working well though. Reduce showers. Stick to simple ingredients that focus on hydration, sealing, and that mimic the building blocks of the stratum corneum. And not following the dopamine cravings to try new, spicy things. 😬
@hazelmoss How long did it take you to find this current routine and get your flares under control? Have you found a specific holy grail ingredient or product that mimics barrier building blocks without sending you into a tailspin? I fore sure agree it is sometimes a real struggle against the dopamine cravings to try new skincare... the struggle is real!!!!
@Emily from what I understand Vitamin C is faster at "brightening" than niacinamide. Although niacinamide does also help with inflammation and skin barrier. Depends on what you are looking for.

I would say vitamin C. Niacinamide is a great "partner" ingredient to bump up efficacy, but vitamin C will be better overall for brightening.
Both are highly effective at irritating my skin. 🦞 That's all I can say about them.
