Products that are cheap but you swear by!
Inspired by the thread from our friend Emily “Products that you love and you wish they were cheaper”, here’s me asking the opposite!
I’ll go first but I’ve mentioned it before:
Azelaic Acid from Boots (drugstore from the UKI) I’m sorry for those that doesn’t have access to it but so far it’s the only product I have in mind for this category. This azelaic acid is less than €10 and it clears my post acne marks so much faster than the Anua one that currently costs around €27!
Would recommend it for anyone visiting the UKI ✈️

🛍️ RED EARTH - V10 Primer and Moisturizer (C-Beauty) Why? It's a perfect dupe of Bobbi Brown's Vitamin Enriched Face Base+ Moisturizer & Primer. It cost $16.64 for 50g on YesStyle before coupons while BB's primer costs $70 for the 50g option. Girl. This is by far THE BEST (for real) dupe I have ever found. I'm ridiculously proud of myself. 🛍️ WET n WILD - Bare Focus Tinted Hydrator Tinted Skin Veil (W-Beauty) Why? For $5.50 at Target or $6.99 at Ulta, you get the most hydrating, comfortable makeup-is-skincare experience. You get glycerine. You get hyaluronic acid. You get squalane. You get buildable coverage and a natural finish. What you don't get are zits, 🦞 face, or an empty wallet. This baby competes with all of my base makeup from L'Oreal to Armani. 🛍️ A'PIEU - Soft Foot 30 Minute Peeling Socks (K-Beauty) Why? $5 and it does the work of my former HG peel Baby Foot, which comes in at $25 for just the socks. $35 for the bundle with scrub and soak. For $35 I can get 4 pairs of the A'PIEU peel, 1 full jar of Watercome White Tea scrub, and 6 lbs of epsom salt. My heels are set for the YEAR. Girl, byeeee!
@hazelmoss whatever you say, I am adding to my wishlist 😂
Love this topic! Here are my favorite budget-friendly staples that punch way above their price tag: APLB (The 10/10 No-Fluff Workhorse of K-Beauty) 🧴🔬 If I were ever to formulate and release a skincare line, this is exactly how I’d do it. Zero marketing fluff, zero aesthetic nonsense, just total honesty about what’s inside, slapped straight on the front label. They even include an intuitive target diagram on the packaging to show exactly which skin concern the formula addresses! It might not have a fancy, luxury vanity finish, but the ingredients are 100% science-backed actives (glutathione, tranexamic acid, retinal, niacinamide) built into soothing Centella bases. Serious clinical function for a fraction of the price. Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner (The Hydration Giant) 🌾💧 J-beauty, but an honorary Asian beauty staple. You get a massive 500ml bottle for practically nothing, and it’s a lifesaver for reactive, sensitive skin. I decant it into a fine mist bottle for facial layers and body hydration post-shower. It’s not trying to solve all your life problems with 50 actives, but it gives reliable, non-sticky hydration with zero sting or drama. Essence Makeup (The Nostalgic Drugstore Playground) 💄✨ Looking back, Essence was such a fun, accessible way to experiment with makeup in my 20s without spending serious money. It’s obviously not luxury high-end, but their mascaras, brow products, and lip formulas perform surprisingly well. (Their peptides lip releases are still on my list to check out!) The Dollarstore 2-Liter Salon Conditioner Hack 💇🏼♀️🧴 As someone with long, bleached hair, finding conditioners that detangle and nourish without costing a fortune is a nightmare. I found this massive 2-liter salon jug at Dollarstore for around €4 and audited the INCI: It packs a heavy-hitting double punch of Behentrimonium Chloride + Cetrimonium Chloride (cationic surfactants that bind right to bleached, negatively charged cuticles to kill frizz), along with Hydrolyzed Keratin, Argan Oil, and a complete biomimetic NMF complex (Niacinamide, Urea, Sodium PCA, Amino Acids). It performs better as a rich mask than high-end salon tubs costing 10x more! Sometimes the massive bulk bottles and no-fluff brands end up beating the fancy vanity shelf items every single time! 😂🧴
Thank you for the credits and my favourite products i swear by are be plain foam cleanser and illiyoon ato cerimides lotion
