Is it possible to create a private message or direct message among each other? Sometimes we’re responding to a thread and we side track onto another interesting topic with another member. Instead of bombarding everyone with a responses that has nothing to do with the original topic, I think it’s better if we can private message or direct message another member(s).

I know where you’re coming from but I have to be honest I kinda like the messy thread because it does give me a “forum vibe” where people keeps adding up and sharing experiences, it’s messy in many ways but it gives me the sense of community, same I’d have in YouTube comments, reddit etc .. but I reckon a way of private texting people would also be nice, just not sure how “easy” would be for the team to create this since it might involve a more complex coding! Let’s see what they think!!
Hopefully it can be done, because I actually want to private message others and have a log to easy respond and check on updates. It’s hard for me to track my response and other responses with a 1 year old. :(
@BeauteAddict oh yeah, that changes the game completely! An alternative would be a discord channel with everyone involved or just start asking for people’s social media too hhaha but I hope the team can find the best solution 🩵
I actually agree with both sides here! 😂 I really like the “messy forum” feeling too because sometimes the best information comes from people randomly jumping into a conversation and sharing their own experiences. If someone asks for product recommendations, help with a specific skin concern, experiences with a brand, etc., I definitely like having those conversations publicly because other people might find the answers useful too. But I would LOVE to have a private/direct message option as well. Sometimes you start replying to someone about the original topic and then somehow, five replies later, the two of you are talking about something completely unrelated. 😂 At that point I sometimes think, why are we having this entire conversation under this poor person’s post when it has absolutely nothing to do with what they originally asked? 😭 Of course someone else might still enjoy reading our completely derailed conversation 😂, but I can also imagine that plenty of people following the original topic really don’t care about our new side quest. I think DMs would be especially nice for those situations, or when you’ve started talking regularly with a particular member and want to continue a conversation without having to find an appropriate public thread every time. And YES to having an easier way to keep track of replies!! That’s actually something I struggle with too. When I see that someone has replied/commented on something of mine and click the notification, it doesn’t always take me directly to the exact reply I need. Then I have to search through the thread trying to figure out which comment was actually directed at me, and when there are tons of comments and nested replies it can get really difficult. 😭 So honestly, I’d love both: keep the public threads and all their wonderfully chaotic forum energy 😂, but also give us DMs for conversations that wander completely off-topic, plus ideally a better way to jump directly to the specific comment/reply from notifications. A Discord could work too, but I actually think having it built into the community would be nicer if it’s possible, because then everything stays in one place and you don’t have to start exchanging social media accounts just because you accidentally became skincare friends in the comments. 😂❤️
