The Pristine Cream is a great skin-barrier-supporting moisturizer with a rich, luxurious texture. It feels refreshing when first applied and is noticeably moisturizing, especially when I tested it on the back of my hand. I can definitely see it being a gem for the right person, particularly someone who enjoys a richer, more occlusive cream. There were two things that didn’t work for me. First was the scent. It reminded me of old-fashioned face creams—specifically my grandmother’s creams and my mom’s POND’S Cold Cream. I’m more accustomed to the smoother, more refined sensory experience of creams from Lancôme, IOPE, and Holitual, so in comparison, the Pristine Cream felt a little less sophisticated in both scent and finish. If I take the fragrance out of the equation, I would compare the overall experience to the ILIA Barrier Build Skin Protectant Cream. My second issue was absorption. On my face, the cream tended to sit on the surface rather than sink in. Interestingly, although it felt very moisturizing on the back of my hand, I didn’t get the same result on my face. I tried pairing it with tretinoin, hoping the richer texture would help with dryness, but I still woke up with dry skin despite feeling like the cream was sitting on top of my skin. I also developed a small breakout while using it, so ultimately it wasn’t the best match for my skin. That said, it has some genuinely appealing qualities—the refreshing initial feel, rich texture, and immediate moisturization. I think it could be a lovely barrier cream for someone whose skin responds well to a richer, more occlusive formula.

The smell of the cream is nice. It is not greasy. However its texture is a bit like jelly instead of a cream which made my skin feels so tight all day after applying it.

Beautiful barrier cream. My skin is very sensitive so I did a patch test first, but absolutely didn't need to as this product is extremely soothing. It is cooling and calming as well as being extremely moisturising. I have dry, mature skin and I really liked using this cream for a week (twice daily). I don't know if it would suit oily skin, but it definitely suited mine, even more than some of the most popular K-beauty barrier creams. It also seemed to calm any redness. I would definitely buy this again if it is at an affordable price point.
