Waterfull Essence Sun Cream

d'Alba

SunscreenDry

Sunscreen for dry skin and dry climate

Background:
30s dry-combination thin skin, prone to pigmentation.

Product:
d'Alba Waterfull Essence Sun Cream is SPF 50+ PA++++ is marketed as a quick-absorbing formula that leaves no white cast. Features a Hydro Trapping technology and Aquaxyl to keep the skin hydrated. (Information obtained from Olive Young Global website)

Texture and application: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cream formula that feels greasy to the touch during application and heavier on the skin compared to a gel based sunscreen; on the moderate scale for a cream based sunscreen. It leaves a noticeable film on the skin. As a consumer, I associate a quick absorbing formula with a lightweight product, where I would hardly notice the product on my skin after a few minutes. Unfortunately for this product, the lingering feel remains even hours after application. I don't think "quick absorbing" is an accurate marketing message.

Make up compatibility: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Layers well with my skincare products and foundation without causing any piling. Foundation does not separate as easily as when I use other sunscreen products. In fact, I think it helps my foundation adhere to the skin better and gives me a pleasant, glowy finish. I do use a translucent powder to dab my T-zones after using the foundation.

Appearance and finish: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
True to its claims, this product leaves no white cast. It leaves a noticeable sheen on my face without making my skin look oily or greasy.

Skin comfort: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
For someone with dry skin and works in a dry space, this sunscreen provides sufficient hydration. It does not cause any irritation, although my skin generally does not react adversely to skincare products. My skin feels comfortable throughout the day, but I can still feel the sunscreen sitting on my skin. This is not a lightweight product but a moderate to medium weight.

Overall performance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
This is a chemical sunscreen that provides me with adequate sun protection. I have not noticed an increase in sun spots or skin darkening since using this product. I think this is a good sunscreen for those with dry skin, particularly in drier climates. I don't recommend it to someone with an oily skin condition, or those who strongly dislike a substantial feel on the skin. For me personally, I find that this product helps gives my skin just the right amount of glow to look healthy and radiant. It's a product I will repurchase at the right price.
