Dongui MOGAM is a Korean scalp skincare brand singularly focused on 'scalp itchiness'. The brand name is derived from 『Donguibogam』, a medical text from Korea's Joseon Dynasty. In Korea, there's a long-standing tradition of washing hair with boiled Acorus calamus water on Dano Day to clarify the scalp. We've brought this tradition back into modern scalp care. Our signature product, Changpo Scalp Serum, features Acorus Calamus Rhizome Water as its primary ingredient, not purified water. It contains Acorus Calamus, Houttuynia Cordata, Green Tea, and Centella Asiatica to collectively manage itchiness, redness, and flakiness. Our products are developed with the consultation of a Korean medicine specialist in ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and dermatology. In a third-party human application test (22 adult women, 2 weeks), we confirmed improvements in scalp soothing (redness) by 84.2%, flakiness by 77.9%, and itchiness by 54.9%. All 22 participants showed improvements in soothing, flakiness, and itchiness. A patch test on 32 individuals with sensitive skin resulted in a low irritation index of 0.03, classifying it as hypoallergenic. Its transparent, water-type formula, free from alcohol, menthol, and synthetic fragrances, ensures daily use won't burden the scalp. We believe the scalp should be cared for just like facial skin. We are developing a routine that spans washing (shampoo), post-wash (serum), and moments of itchiness (ampoule). Our customers include those experiencing itchiness due to seborrheic scalp, post-dye irritation, or lifestyle habits that keep the scalp covered for extended periods, such as wearing hijabs or braids. Within five months of its launch in Korea, over 1,100 reviews have accumulated, and now we aim to share the same experience with itchy scalps worldwide.
