About MOGAM
Dongui MOGAM is a Korean scalp skincare brand focused solely on 'scalp itchiness'. Its name is derived from 『Donguibogam』, a medical book from the Joseon Dynasty. Korea has a long-standing tradition of washing hair with boiled calamus water on Dano day to clarify the scalp, and we've brought that tradition back to modern scalp care. Our signature product, the Calamus Scalp Serum, features Acorus Calamus Root Water as its primary ingredient, not purified water, and contains Calamus, Houttuynia Cordata, Green Tea, and Centella Asiatica to manage itchiness, redness, and flakes together. Our products are developed with the consultation of a specialist in Korean Medicine Otorhinolaryngology, Dermatology, and Ophthalmology. In a third-party human application test (22 adult women, 2 weeks), improvements were confirmed: scalp soothing (redness) by 84.2%, flakes by 77.9%, and itchiness by 54.9%. All 22 participants showed improvement in soothing, flakes, and itchiness, and a patch test on 32 individuals with sensitive skin resulted in a low irritation index of 0.03. Its transparent, water-type formula, free from alcohol, menthol, and synthetic fragrances, ensures daily use won't burden the scalp. We believe the scalp should be cared for like facial skin. We are creating a routine that spans washing (shampoo), post-wash (serum), and moments of itchiness (ampoule). Our customers are those who experience itchiness due to seborrheic scalp, post-dye irritation, or lifestyle habits that cover the scalp for extended periods, such as hijabs or braids. Within five months of its launch in Korea, over 1,100 reviews have accumulated, and now we aim to share the same experience with itchy scalps worldwide.
